An eFoil, also known as an electric hydrofoil, is a personal watercraft designed to lift the rider above the water’s surface. How Does eFoiling Work?

The eFoil electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack stored inside the board while riding. The battery pack drives the small electric motor and propeller mounted on the hydrofoil mast beneath the board.

The hydrofoil itself consists of a front wing, back wing, fuselage and mast to make up the airplane-like structure that lifts the board out of the water. eFoil vs Jet Board

The main difference between an eFoil and a jet board is the location of the propulsion system. The eFoil has a hydrofoil mast and wings to which the motor and propeller is mounted under the water allowing the rider to hover above the water, while the jet board propulsion system inside the board keeps the rider on the surface of the water.
